A Special Visit for Everyone Involved

Just last year, Kammy Kupcake and her handler Katherine Patterson, Bella and her handler Judith Pepin, and Duke and I were invited to Apple Rehab Mystic in Connecticut to visit with residents and make some smiles. Residents were also invited to have their pictures taken with the therapy dogs. We took our dogs around to all the rooms so that residents who were unable to come down to the dining room could have their pictures taken with them. We brought smiles and happy tears to everyone we met.  This truly was a wonderful visit with the residents and staff.

It was also a teaching opportunity for me, having Katherine, my evaluator and mentor, watch Duke and me volunteer together. In addition, I learned from Judith who I also view as a mentor as she volunteered with her dog and to gave me pointers. All in all, it was a special visit for everyone involved.
