Pet Partners of Illinois was formed to meet the growing demand for therapy animal teams throughout the area. This chapter is one of four newly established Pet Partners chapters and will combine the opportunities available in the local community with the best practices put in place by Pet Partners International Headquarters, while also serving as an extension of existing Pet Partners community-based groups.
“I am incredibly humbled and honored to have the opportunity to advance Pet Partner’s mission of utilizing the power of the human-animal bond to enhance health and well-being through the creation of the Illinois Chapter. Pet Partners has had a significant impact in the Chicagoland area over the last 25 years as dedicated volunteers have worked tirelessly to share the love of their pets with the community. I am looking forward to building upon the foundation that was set through these efforts so that together, we can continue to grow our program outreach, recruit even more handlers, and develop sustainable funding that is needed to better serve both our volunteer handlers and the people who benefit from therapy animal visitation. Thank you for your support, compassion, and dedication to our mission.” -Elle Ullum, Executive Director
