Zamboni was a Samoyed, a breed renowned for their fluffy white coats and smiling expressions. She first registered as a therapy dog with handlers Lisa and Todd Marino in 2009, and brought joy to countless people for more than a decade. Lisa sent the following tribute after Zamboni’s passing in May 2021.
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our therapy dog Zamboni.
Zamboni was a Pet Partners therapy dog for 12 years, from the time she passed her first evaluation at age 1. She was adept at therapy animal visits in all environments: visiting with kids in active settings like classrooms and camps as well as quiet reading visits, and visits at hospitals, assisted living, and supporting first responders.
Zamboni and her brother Spumoni participated in Pet Night on Capitol Hill for several years, and enjoyed meeting everyone in Washington, DC.
They also took part in the Pet Partners Meet the Pets event in November 2019.
We will miss her terribly.
