April 7-13, 2019 is #VolunteerAppreciationWeek, and Pet Partners wants to celebrate all of the dedicated volunteers who are the heart of our Therapy Animal Program! During the week we’ll be sharing stories on social media about some of our volunteers and how important they are to our program, to their communities, and to each other.

Mocha Java and Honey Duke

Today’s #VolunteerAppreciationWeek focus is handler Elayne Miller from Georgia. Elayne first registered with Pet Partners in 2015, with her chocolate Lab Mocha Java, and in 2016 also registered with her yellow Lab Honey Duke. Over the past four years Elayne and her partners have kept very busy making visits as Pet Partners teams; Elayne has logged more visits in our Volunteer Center than any other handler—almost 300! Elayne is a wonderful example of the passion our volunteers have for serving their communities. Thank you to Elayne and Mocha Java and Honey Duke for their efforts! And thank you to all the dedicated Pet Partners teams making visits every day.
