Social Media Specialist (Full Time, Remote)

Pet Partners is seeking a creative, strategic, and engagement-focused Social Media Specialist to drive our social media presence across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, and TikTok.  

In this role, you’ll develop and execute engaging social media campaigns that increase awareness of our mission – bringing the healing power of animals to people in need through our therapy animal program and sister organization, the Association of Animal-Assisted Intervention Professionals (AAAIP).  

As a member of Pet Partners professional staff, you will serve as an energetic, collaborative, and effective team player both within the department and across the Pet Partners organization, exemplifying our core values of being Accountable, Agile, Determined, Positive and Solution-Focused.   

As the ideal candidate, you live and breathe social media best practices. You’re a master content creator skilled in writing compelling captions, filming and repurposing videos, designing shareable graphics, and identifying and leveraging the latest trends. Your editorial calendar strategy and content sparks meaningful engagement and drives audiences to take action.

  • Proactively cultivate and engage with our existing followers while expanding into new communities to increase awareness of and support for our mission  
  • Analyze metrics and pivot strategies to maximize reach and impact 
  • Collaborate across teams to amplify and increase support for campaigns, events, and programs   
  • Stay ahead of the curve on new social technologies and platform updates and refine strategies and content accordingly 
  • Balance multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced remote environment 

You’ll thrive with at least 3 years of demonstrated successful hands-on social media management experience, a keen understanding of best practices and trends in organic content creation and the ability to adapt them into action-inspiring posts, strong project management abilities, and top-notch communication skills. Nonprofit and/or pet sector experience is a plus!
